Candidates should be appropriately qualified electrotechnical craftspersons, or must be able to provide an employer endorsed letter to substantiate their experience in the relevant discipline.

Course Content

The Certificate of Core Competence is valid for five years and will need to be renewed prior to the expiry date by attendance on the two day CompEx Refresher course. When five years has been exceeded, the delegate will need to attend the full five Day CompEx course.

Dangerous substances are any substances used or present at work that could, if not properly controlled, cause harm to people as a result of a fire or explosion. This includes such things as solvents, paints, varnishes, flammable gases, such as liquid petroleum gas (LPG), dusts from machining and sanding operations and dusts from foodstuffs. CompEx is a national joint training initiative developed and implemented by the Engineering Equipment and Material Users Association (EEMUA) and JTL and is supported by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

Thank you for booking on to the above course.  Please find enclosed your course information pack. It is strongly suggested you read this prior to your course and familiarise yourself with the documents included.

Evidence of electrical qualifications. All delegates attending these courses should be appropriately qualified electrotechnical craftpersons (NVQ3) in accordance with the Electricity at Work Regulations.

Prior to attending you will also need to supply Eastcoast College by email the following items to comply with JTL regulations.
